A Strong Start for the Farming Collective

The Fiona Wood Foundation is proud to celebrate the first grain donation to the Farming Collective, with a generous contribution of 30 tonnes from the 2025–2026 harvest.

The Farming Collective invites Western Australian growers to donate a portion of their harvest to support burn research through the Horizon Campaign. Each tonne donated contributes to the Research Innovation Fund, helping drive new discoveries in burn treatment, prevention and recovery, and supporting research that improves outcomes for patients and families affected by burn injury.

This first donation marks an important milestone for the initiative and reflects the generosity and community spirit that exists across Western Australia’s farming regions. It is also a powerful reminder that even a small portion of a harvest can grow into something much greater when communities come together with a shared purpose.

The contribution follows one of the strongest seasons in Western Australia’s grain industry. CBH received approximately 24.2 million tonnes across its network during the 2025–26 harvest, surpassing the previous record of 22.9 million tonnes.

Behind these numbers are the growers whose knowledge, resilience and hard work sustain regional communities and contribute to one of Western Australia’s most important industries. Across the state, farming families continue to produce food and grain that supports both local economies and global markets.

Through harvest donations like this one, that same dedication now helps support life-changing research. We extend our sincere thanks to the grower who made this first donation and helped set the initiative in motion.
