Cynthia Banham Burn Injury Research Fellowship

The Fiona Wood Foundation, in partnership with The Ian Potter Foundation and Cynthia Banham, is pleased to announce that applications are now open for the 2025 Cynthia Banham Burn Injury Research Fellowship.

The fellowship is named in honor of Cynthia Banham, a former Sydney Morning Herald foreign affairs and defense journalist who sustained severe injuries in the Yogyakarta air disaster in March 2007. Cynthia's journey to recovery from burns under the care of Fiona and the Burns Service of WA inspired her to support research and the advancement of burn care to improve the quality of life for burn survivors.

Eligibility and Fellowship Details:

Applications are now being accepted for the 2025 intake, and interested candidates are encouraged to email their expressions of interest along with a statement of eligibility and current status to Diane.

We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to Cynthia and The Stan Perron Foundation for their ongoing commitment to championing and mentoring the next generation of burn research expertise in Australia.
