Hi Friends,
As we come to the end of 2025, I’ve been thinking a lot about what truly carries us through and for me, it always comes back to the people.
It’s been a tough year in many ways, but across our work in research, education and community engagement, we’ve still seen ideas grow, new technologies edge closer to helping real patients, and our education reach more clinicians and communities across WA. Every step forward, no matter how big or small, has happened because people showed up, with their time, their passion and their belief in what we’re working toward.
A real highlight for me this year has been spending time in regional communities. The launch of the Farming Collective in Narrogin was something truly special, and visiting places like Moora and Wannamal reminded me just how much strength sits within our regional networks. Thank you to everyone who hosted us, welcomed us in, and shared their stories. These connections mean a great deal, and they reinforce why our work must reach every corner of WA.
To our donors, fundraisers and corporate partners, thank you for standing with us. Your generosity has kept our momentum strong and helped us push important work forward. To our collaborators across universities and the health system, your expertise and willingness to share make every project stronger. And to our patients and families, your voices, your honesty, and your ongoing connection to us keep our work grounded in what truly matters. You remind us why we do what we do.
If you’d like to see some of the impact you’ve helped create, please read our Annual Report on the FWF website. It highlights progress across our pillars — World-leading Research, Advancing Care, Impactful Education and Financial Sustainability.
As we head into 2026, I’m feeling energised by how far we’ve come and excited for what lies ahead. One of the most significant milestones on our horizon is the establishment of the WA Comprehensive Centre for Childhood Burns. We are incredibly fortunate here in Western Australia to have the extraordinary philanthropic support of the Stan Perron Charitable Trust and Telethon 7, whose commitment to paediatric care continues to make an immeasurable impact.
To all of you—thank you. Thank you for showing up, for donating (no matter the amount, every contribution matters), for your loyalty, your compassion, and for being such an important part of our burn family. We genuinely couldn’t do this without you.
Yours
Di Lim
