The Fiona Wood Foundation is proud to share that Dr Andrew Stevenson has been awarded a prestigious WA Near-Miss Award (WANMA): Ideas Grant for 2024–2025 to support critical research in skin regeneration.
Dr Stevenson’s project, Developing next generation cell therapies for skin regeneration after injury, will explore new therapeutic approaches to improve healing and long-term outcomes following burn injury. This funding—delivered through Western Australia’s Future Health Research and Innovation (FHRI) Fund—builds on the Foundation’s commitment to advancing innovation and excellence in burn research and innovation, and to developing new treatments that improve outcomes for people affected by burn injury.
The WANMA program supports Western Australian researchers whose highly ranked submissions to the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) Ideas Grant scheme narrowly missed due to limited funding availability.
We congratulate Andy on this significant achievement and look forward to sharing the progress of this important work.
