Get Ready for the Central Park Plunge 2024!

We are excited to announce that the Fiona Wood Foundation will strap on the harnesses again to participate in the Central Park Plunge 2024—and we would love for you to join us! This event is designed for those up for a challenge, inviting them to abseil 130 metres down Central Park Tower on St George's Terrace in Perth. This thrilling challenge offers a once-in-a-lifetime experience and a direct opportunity for you to play a crucial role in supporting FWF's mission to improve the quality of life outcomes for burn patients now and in the future.

At the Foundation, we are dedicated to understanding all facets of the patient journey following a burn injury—encompassing the physical, psychological, and physiological dimensions—and translating this knowledge into better clinical practices and innovative treatments. Our holistic approach supports patients and their families beyond the physical scars, contributing to advancements in clinical care excellence here in WA and beyond.

This year, we are raising funds to support our current priority fundraising campaign: developing a comprehensive data platform. This platform is essential for advancing our biobank efforts, enabling us to analyse and securely store valuable data from biological samples collected. This initiative, requiring a minimum investment of $150,000, is crucial for enhancing our research capabilities and fostering collaboration across disciplines. The potential impact of the data platform is transformative. Your participation in THE PLUNGE will directly contribute to helping us bring science to the bedside, driving forward our pursuit of clinical excellence and care.

Are you interested in participating in the Central Park Plunge but don't have any abseiling experience? Don't worry—prior experience is not necessary!
