The Fiona Wood Foundation, in partnership with Queensland University of Technology and the Australian Health Services Innovation Alliance, is inviting healthcare professionals to contribute to Ember to Empower, a national research project to co-design a burn recovery toolkit.
For many burn survivors and their families, navigating support, resources and follow-up care after leaving the hospital can be challenging. The burn community has identified this as an important priority.
The Ember to Empower study will work with burn survivors aged 12+, parents and caregivers of younger burn survivors, and healthcare professionals to co-design a recovery toolkit to support recovery after discharge. The toolkit will bring together information in one place to help people access the support they need as they adjust to life after a burn.
Healthcare professionals play an important role in supporting recovery. Your insights will help ensure the toolkit is relevant, accessible and aligned with the needs of patients and families.
We are seeking expressions of interest from clinicians across disciplines who work with burn survivors, including those supporting paediatric and adolescent patients.
Participants will be invited to take part in surveys and co-design activities.
