Our Executive Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Jessica Ilich to the Fiona Wood Foundation board of directors. This brings the number of board members to seven.
Jessica Ilich
Jessica is Legal Counsel at Telstra Limited, in its dispute resolution team. She specialises in large and smaller scale claims and regulatory matters, with experience in contractual disputes, privacy, intellectual property, regulatory compliance and governance, investigations, and competition and consumer law. Jessica regularly works directly with both the business to provide commercial and practical advice, and with third parties to negotiate mutually beneficial settlements. She is also experienced at advising on regulatory and corporate governance obligations and best practice.
Prior to joining Telstra mid-2023, Jessica worked in private practice for almost ten years, at both Lavan and Clayton Utz, in their litigation and dispute resolution teams.
Throughout her career, Jessica has complimented her legal skills with commercial acumen and strong negotiation skills. In addition to her practice, Jessica is committed to continuous personal development, and is also currently studying a Graduate Certificate in Business at Curtin University. She also holds a Bachelor of Science (Anatomy and Human Biology). These provide Jessica with a well-rounded perspective, and understanding of the legal, commercial, technological, and analytical challenges organisations face.
Jessica is passionate about giving back to the community, and has actively sought out opportunities to assist Not-for-Profits, from pro-bono work to positions on law firm Community Committees. These roles have seen Jessica engaged with smaller Not-for-Profits, championing their causes and assisting them with access to resources, funding, awareness, and pro bono legal advice. She also sits as Company Secretary for The Children’s Tumour Foundation of Australia, and has regularly volunteered as a mentor for law students.
Through her career, Jessica has continually strived to go above and beyond, and to hold herself to the highest legal and ethical standards.
