Ember to Empower

Ember to Empower Study: Join the Research to Build a Burn Recovery Toolkit

The Fiona Wood Foundation is proud to be part of the new national Ember to Empower study. We are working with burn survivors, families, health workers, and support staff to create a burn recovery toolkit.

This resource is designed as a simple online resource that brings together helpful information and support in one place. The study aims to contribute to the creation of a 'one-stop recovery toolkit' that helps people adjust to life after a burn injury.

Get Involved

Expressions of interest are now open to burn survivors, ages 12 years or older, who have experienced a burn injury, as well as caregivers, family members, and loved ones involved in their recovery.

If you join the study, participation may involve up to three sessions over 18 months. You can take part in one-on-one interviews or small-group discussions, which typically consist of 4-6 people. Sessions may be held online or in person, arranged at a time and place that works for you. Please note that each session will be audio recorded (not video) so the research team can learn

from what you share. You might also be invited to a final meeting with other participants and experts to help review and test the finished toolkit.

Expression of Interest Survey

We want to hear from people with different backgrounds and experiences. The survey helps the research team include a wide range of experiences and backgrounds. If you are eligible, we'll contact you and ask you to sign a consent form, and if not, you can choose to be contacted for future stages of the study.

If you would like to get involved, please complete the expression of interest survey.

To complete the survey, please scan the QR code on the flyer or click here.
