BRANZ
Having good data on the extent of the problem of burn injury is vital to inform our practice, prevention and education programs, and guide to guide our research. The pattern of burn injury in children differs to the pattern in adults, as most buns are age-related and activity related. Our participation in the Burn Registry of Australia and New Zealand gives us in depth information about who, why and how our kids are getting burned, and how they were treated. No-one can be identified from this data, but it is particularly useful in research because it gives us information about what is normal.
