Burns Management Program
Managing burn injuries in Western Australia presents unique challenges across its vast 2.55 million square kilometers. Healthcare professionals and volunteer first responders in rural and remote regions frequently make complex treatment decisions in isolation, often working alone without immediate specialist support, making their expertise crucial for patient outcomes
The Burns Management Program (BMP) equips these communities with essential skills and knowledge for managing burn injuries in geographically isolated settings. This vital training is fully subsidised for eligible healthcare professionals, paramedics and volunteer first responders and delivers comprehensive training across the complete spectrum of burn care, from immediate response through to long-term rehabilitation.
Program Features
- Evidence-based protocols tailored for remote settings
- Strategic decision-making frameworks for resource-limited environments
- Specialized training for independent practitioners
- Streamlined specialist consultation and patient transfer protocols
- Comprehensive support for both patient care and practitioner wellbeing
Who Should Attend
Our training program is designed for:
- Remote area nurses and practitioners
- Paramedics and emergency responders
- Volunteer first responders
- Regional hospital staff
- Indigenous healthcare workers

By fostering excellence in burn care education, we're building a strong network of skilled practitioners throughout Western Australia's remote and rural regions.
