FWF at Dowerin Machinery Field Days
FWF attended Dowerin Machinery Field Days with the support of Elders, sharing burn prevention and first aid education with people from across Western Australia.
On 26 and 27 August, FWF attended the Dowerin Machinery Field Days, one of Western Australia’s largest agricultural events, bringing burn prevention and first aid education to people from across the State.
Our work is only possible because of the people and organisations who choose to support it. Elders welcomed FWF into their shed for the two-day event, giving Di and Gabi the opportunity to work alongside the Elders team and connect with visitors from across rural, regional and metropolitan Western Australia.
At the Field Days, Di and Gabi spoke with visitors about burn prevention and first aid, answering questions and sharing information about what to do when a burn injury occurs.
Visitors took home hundreds of FWF burn first aid fridge magnets for use in homes, sheds and workplaces.
We also handed out burn first aid stickers and Ben & Bella on the Farm colouring sheets, while our Ben & Bella storybooks made their way into homes, schools and libraries, extending these important messages to children and families.
For a state as vast as Western Australia, the Field Days provide an important opportunity to take education beyond metropolitan Perth and reach people from communities across the State.
We thank Elders for making this opportunity possible and for supporting FWF’s work.
We also thank everyone who stopped by to speak with Di and Gabi. We valued the questions, stories and experiences shared with us over the two days.
