On Sunday, 24 May 2026, more than 40,000 runners, joggers, walkers and wheelers took to the streets of Perth for the HBF Run for a Reason, raising more than $1.85 million for over 350 charities.
Among them were Anupriya, Dinithi, Lauren, Jeffrey and Michelle, who chose the Fiona Wood Foundation as their reason and joined our 2026 FWF crew, helping turn Perth’s streets orange.
For Jeffrey, participating was connected to what he had learned about the ripple effect of burn injury and the Foundation’s research and education. Working in the oil and gas industry, he also brought an understanding of the importance of injury prevention and workplace safety.
“Workplace safety is something that is constantly emphasised. We regularly have safety moments at work, and more recently, we held a Safety Week, reinforcing the importance of safety culture.”
Our five participants were supported by family, friends and community members who donated, encouraged them along the way and cheered them towards the finish line.
To Anupriya, Dinithi, Lauren, Jeffrey and Michelle, thank you for choosing FWF as your reason. And to everyone who supported our crew, thank you for being part of the day.
A very big FWF WOOHOO! to you all.
And if this year’s event has inspired you to take part, the HBF Run for a Reason returns on Sunday, 23 May 2027 and we would LOVE for you to choose US as your reason.
