Tim Haslam Finalist in Two 2026 Awards

Tim Haslam, burn survivor and Chair of the Fiona Wood Foundation’s Agribusiness Taskforce, has been named a finalist in two 2026 awards recognising his work across agricultural safety and community service.

Tim is a WA finalist in the Toyota Wellbeing and Safety in Agriculture Award, part of the national 2026 Australian Agriculture Awards, presented by ACM Agri and the National Farmers’ Federation. The awards recognise farmers, agribusiness leaders and agri-professionals contributing to Australia’s agricultural sector, with state recipients progressing to the National Awards in Canberra.

He is also one of three finalists for the Murray Lang Bush Fire Service Award at the 2026 Western Australian Fire and Emergency Services (WAFES) Awards, representing the Popanyinning Bush Fire Brigade. The WAFES Awards recognise the contribution of emergency services personnel across Western Australia, with 35 finalists selected from 139 nominations this year. Winners will be announced on 5 September.

Drawing on his own experience of burn injury, Tim advocates for burn prevention in agricultural communities, encouraging people to understand the risks, wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and take every possible precaution to reduce injury risk.

As Chair of the Fiona Wood Foundation’s Agribusiness Taskforce, Tim is also helping strengthen the Foundation’s connection with Western Australia’s farming community.

Through the Farming Collective, farmers can support burns research by donating a portion of their harvest. These contributions help fund research focused on improving burn treatment and recovery, supporting people affected by burn injury to return to their families, communities, work and life on the land.

Tim’s advocacy, leadership and support of the Foundation continue to help raise awareness of burn prevention while strengthening engagement with WA’s agricultural community.
