Community Connection Event
2023 Your Impact Research Event
Our Burn Family came together for the 2023 Impact Research Celebration to hear about current research, share experiences and connect with our the FWF.
On Thursday 16 November, our Burn Family joined the Fiona Wood Foundation team at the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research for our 2023 Your Impact Research Celebration.
The evening brought our community and researchers together to hear about work underway across the Foundation, share experiences and continue conversations around burn injury and recovery.
A/Prof Ann-Maree Vallence from Murdoch University presented on the Neuroplasticity Trial, while Dr Blair Johnson shared his work in metabolomics. Dr Lucy Barrett spoke about research investigating the impact of burn injury on the immune system, and Dr Natalie Morellini provided an update on the Solaria Cream Trial.
Neville Smith joined us as our patient guest speaker and shared his burn journey and reflections on recovery with our Burn Family. Di also shared an update from across the Fiona Wood Foundation and reflected on the year.
Following the presentations, everyone came together over refreshments, with time to speak with our researchers, ask questions and connect with others from our Burn Family.
Your Impact is one way we share our research with our community and create opportunities for our Burn Family to connect directly with the people behind the work.
Thank you to everyone who came along and shared the evening with us.
